Bruce Schofield is a 24-year veteran law enforcement officer retired from San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department (SBCSD). His career in public safety spans over 48 years of service.  Prior to his law enforcement career, Bruce worked for several different public safety agencies as an ocean lifeguard, reserve firefighter, disaster training coordinator, paramedic coordinator and reserve coroner’s investigator.

During the past 26-years, Bruce has worked as a canine handler, trainer and master trainer of explosive detection canine teams.  During this time, with the help of many others, he has certified over one thousand explosive detection canine teams from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies including ATF, CIA, DHS, FBI and USMS. During nine of these years, Bruce assisted ATF personnel in the training and imprinting of hundreds of explosive detection canine teams from the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps at numerous military bases in the CONUS, OCONUS and Overseas prior to their deployment to Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa.

Bruce Schofield currently serves as President & CEO at BSA Security and Investigations, Inc. Founded in 2015, BSA Security and Investigations, Inc., often referred to as BSA Security, is a California state licensed and insured security and investigation company specializing in Anti-Terrorism and emergency management. BSA Security and Investigations is based in the Greater Los Angeles Area and serves both public and private sectors throughout the United States.

Bruce has served on numerous federal, state and local advisory boards and committees. Bruce has served as a member and subject matter expert on the National Explosive Detection Canine Advisory Board (NEDCAB), the Scientific Working Group on Dogs & Orthogonal Detector Guidelines(SWGDOG) and the California State Fire Marshal’s Office, Accelerant Detection Canine Team Standards Task Force.

During his law enforcement career, Bruce has gained extensive training and experience from numerous federal, state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the United States in intelligence, counterintelligence criminal investigations, anti-terrorism / counterterrorism, surveillance, counter surveillance, hostile surveillance detection, threat assessment, dignitary / executive protection, special weapons and tactics and emergency management. Bruce is a graduate of the California State University Crime and Intelligence Program and currently certified as a Crime and Intelligence Analyst by the State of California Department of Justice.​
